Dental Clinics

The people of Moropocay and Puerto Grande are in desperate need of dental attention.  Dr. Len Jensen and his colleagues, Dr. Abby and Dr. Freddie, recent graduates of the Tegucigalpa Dental School conducted dental clinics in January 2010. They identified many dental problems and corrected some by extraction of the faulty tooth. Dr. Alex Moreno, his wife, Dra. Hortenzia Valladares, have also conducted dental clinics. 

The dental team has been working under very primitive conditions in Puerto Grande and Moropocay.  The only dental treatment they have been able to render is to extract diseased teeth. 

Thanks to a generous donation of an entire dental office outfit from Dr. Len Jensen, we are working to upgrade the facilities so that the dentists can perform "drill and fill" dentistry.   This dental equipment was transported to Honduras by Mission Relief Services.

We were able to successfully install a new dental chair in the Health Care Clinic in Puerto Grande in 2010.

Abby and Fred are recently graduated Honduran Dentists who are dedicated to providing dental services to the needy people in the mountains of southwest Honduras .
