Construction Projects

We have already completed several construction projects at the two communities.  The construction team has worked on construction projects in the villages of Puerto Grande and Moropocay during our visits in 2008, 2009 and 2010.  In 2008 the concrete block building which will eventually become the Sunday School Building was painted and lights were installed.  This building presently serves as a residence for the Pastor, his wife and 3 children while their original house is being rebuilt.

June 1, 2010    Pastor Posadas' house has a roof!

The Posadas family house in Puerto Grande has been a KHISH project since we first went to Honduras five years ago. Last January we purchased the blocks and watched as local workmen built the walls. A few weeks ago we sent Marvin Hernandes the needed funds to put the roof on the house. This has been completed as shown in the attached pictures. In January 2011 we will install wiring and paint the inside of the house. Join us in this rewarding project. See the pictures.

In Moropocay the construction team has added a new outdoor kitchen to the home of the Pastor.  They have also painted the Manse, painted the Sunday School Building and laid tile on all of the floors in 3 buildings.  The construction team accomplishes a lot in the one week a year we spend in Honduras.  But they also work with the local Honduran people who continue the projects while we are gone.  The cost of construction material is paid for by our group.

Pastor Vasquez' New Home

The construction team retained Jose, the Church handyman, to work with them for the very reasonable salary of 250 Lempira per day.  This is approximately $12.50 a day.
